Allianz Global Assistance and Deepavali 2018

As part of our commitment to our community, Allianz Global Assistance is proud to be a sponsor of the Parramatta Park Deepavali Festival in New South Wales for 2018. We recognise the importance of Deepavali (also known as Diwali) to the communities in Australia that celebrate this festival.

We’ll have a tent at Parramatta Park at the 20th anniversary celebration of the Deepavali Festival in Australia on Saturday November 3 from 11.00 am-9.30 pm and Sunday November 4 2018 from 10.00 am-9.30 pm.

Come over to the Allianz Global Assistance tent and say hello! We’ll have a photo booth where you can share your Deepavali memories with your family and friends! Plus we’ll have an exciting giveaway!

Our CEO, Craig Dalzell, will also be present at the festival and will be giving a speech in the VIP session, with other special guests.

Craig says ‘We are delighted to be sponsoring the Deepavali Festival for 2018. We’re proud to be involved as Allianz Global Assistance provides help for many international students, workers and visitors so they can look after their health while they are in Australia. We have also looked after student needs in India for a long time and we look forward to continuing and growing this relationship. It’s part of our vision to support members of our global community whenever they need us’.

You can also talk to some of our Campus Service Representatives who help students at universities all around Australia. Allianz Global Assistance will also be sponsoring a one hour cultural program segment during the festival.

Happy Diwali!

What Is the Deepavali Festival?

Deepavali literally means ‘series or row of lighted lamps’ which is why the festival is known as the Festival of Lights. Symbolically, the festival can be interpreted as a metaphor as the victory of light instead of darkness.

The Deepavali Festival is one of the four largest festivals celebrated by Hindu community, which also include the Holi, Raksha-bandhan, and Dushhera Festivals. The Deepavali festival is celebrated over five days around the world, usually around October or November each year. The dates for Deepavali vary each year as the festival is planned around the new moon, where the lights shine the brightest.

Within Australia, official Deepavali festivals will be held at various venues across Australia and involve numerous food stalls, traditional dancing and musical performances and henna painting. Whilst the festival is largely celebrated by the Hindu community, everyone is welcome to attend Deepavali.

Testimonials

Allianz Global Assistance provides Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) and Overseas Visitors Health Cover (OVHC).  Our health cover provides students and visitors help with the cost of medical treatment while studying or working in Australia. We are proud to help those in times of need. You can view testimonials for our OSHC and OVHC products below:

OSHC Student Health Cover of Allianz is the best - I love the Allianz Student Health Cover which is quite easy for the student to cover their health expenses. I am happy that the Allianz assistance was there in my university. Macquarie University has a direct billing system with Allianz so it was quite easy for me to go for check-ups and medical examinations - Ana.

Five Star Service from Allianz - I made a claim for my mother and I got 35k Bill from Hospital...34k paid by Allianz. I really appreciate them and very happy with their service too. Saved my mother and money. Thanks a lot - Vij.

Allianz Global Assistance in general - I have been with Allianz since 2011, for my student health cover and now for my visitor health cover; therefore, transitioning between the two types of health cover was easier for me.  I was, and still am, satisfied with how they take care of me, from signing up to transitioning from student to visitor health cover, to extending my health cover whenever I need to. The price of their health cover is also competitive. The customer service representatives that I have transacted with so far were friendly, patient and knowledgeable about the different services they offer. I have already used my visitor's health cover for a couple of GP consults and lab work. I have not encountered any issues so far with my cover nor have I yet to file claims because these services are usually bulk/direct billing – Neri.
